Today’s Activist Justices: Happy to Burn It All Down

Activist justices, given their protected status and irresponsible actions, are a prime cause of America’s problems. Basically, activist here means dirty. Dirty justices are burning down the country. They cause big problems and then benefit from them. Maybe you and I would too if we had supreme power and couldn’t be fired, or even called into question, and could hide our actions.

In collusion with the excutive branch, at least with tacit approval and directional alignment, they have effectively neutered the third branch, Congress. So, the justices are thumbing their noses at the people. They are not even trying to be honest public servants.

The burn it all down mantra was in use a decade ago when Trump came on the scene and so-called conservatives saw the chance take total control. McConnell marshaled a string of activist justices, bringing them to heel under MAGA, now morphing into autocracy. So, the justices were foundational to the growth of tyranny, even before Project 2025 became public. Down to elected county and school officials, as well as across the white Christian nationalist voting block, the movement snowballed under the simplicity of burn it all down.

The ongoing radical right-wing movement of extremism has revealed many opportunities to improve. The SCOTUS mockery might be most pressing.

So, please consider and spread the word. This is to remind:

  • what are activist justices;
  • what damage is being done by these SCOTUS activists;
  • what needs to get started to return to the rule of law.

What are activist justices?

When judges rule based on personal or policy preferences rather than precedent or original text, they are activist justices. The label has historically been inadequate, debated, and overused. But today’s clutch of right-wing extremist SCOTUS justices has brought the descriptor to derelict clarity.

At times the judges proudly own the activist label; certainly, they’re not fazed by any attendant stigma. One flew the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, popularized by the aggressive New Apostolic Reformation division of white Chrisitian nationalism.

Shame on activist justices for their dastardly behavior. And shame on the people who cultivated it and take advantage of it. GOP SCOTUS justices have emerged as the genesis of America’s rot, and money keeps it all running. It’s a dirty fixed game, for all the marbles.

What is the SCOTUS damage?

Corruption has always been a bit in evidence, but an over-the-cliff acceleration started when they gave Trump immunity. Now, Trump just shrugs and laughs off any attempts to question or slow him.

People have historically respected the SCOTUS as definers of the rule of law. But, nefariously, these justices now stand tall within the untouchable class they have spawned and nurture. This transition is key to tyrannical takeover. People need to see the stark reality being served up by these judges.

So, America now has a crushing crime problem, and it starts at the top. We see prevailing in-your-face corruption that couldn’t work without institutional collusion.

Foundational American institutions have suffered under SCOTUS

Under today’s SCOTUS decisions, major institutions have been weakened to the point of being hollow and unrecognizable. These are compound existential threats to America, thanks to these justices.

  • Democracy – our activist justices are overseeing the ruination of the great democratic experiment; they forsake the will of the people and the constitution; they are locking down minority rule while systematically stripping away Constitutional rights.
  • Religion – stances on religion demonstrated by the court undermine religious freedom and render it a manipulative tool when mergered with the state; it’s grossly immoral, contrary to the word of God, and sinful.
  • Republican party – not every Republican was ready for Trump to take the GOP off the rails. Former Speaker Paul Ryan ended his political career when he lost the ability to “help the institutions survive,” to “build up the country’s antibodies” and keep “the guardrails up.”
  • Voting rights – With its May 2026 Louisiana v. Callais decision, the activist justices completed their years-long campaign to neuter the Voting Rights Act. Plus, they empowered gerrymandering in favor of Republicans.
  • Conservative cause – The Republican party, and hence the court, no longer demonstrates even the basics of conservatism. Many factions are trying to re-define conservativism in away to stop remaking mistakes and arrive at a political majority.
  • Capitalism – Modern capitalism gets credit for economic inequality, environmental degradation, and democratic erosion. SCOTUS rulings in accordance with unchecked capitalism are threatening to take these into complete systemic failures.

Certain members of the SCOTUS are comfortable legislating from the bench, which is totally wrong and destructive. If autocracy prevails and democracy withers out, these judges will celebrate as heroes. But you couldn’t call it America anymore.

How to stop the corruption and start returning the rule of law

America cannot regain its footing and progress under activist justices. That’s just not the way of democracy. So, all peaceful acts to stop them must be taken.

It’s farcical to think justices are not swayed by party, belief, or political donors. The British, from whom we copied this judge setup, long ago modernized their version. The justices contend they are not politicized, but anyone paying attention sees that they are.

The right wing extremists on the court are political activists of the darkest order. So, you might have to be an activist too. Learn and vote smart, with the intent to reform the SCOTUS.

The need for Supreme Court reform is clearer than ever

Either judicial reform gets started or the charade of democracy will be over. In the absence of action, America will settle into an autocratic social hierarchy of exclusion and preferential treatment.

We the people need to be better aware and understanding of the SCOTUS challenge. As soon as possible, discussion and agreement with our government representatives needs to proceed to legislation. The reform will likely take the shape of term limits, an enforceable code of judicial conduct, and possibly an increase in the number of justices. Let’s do the best we can, carefully and quickly.
