Israeli Americans live here but hold a superseding allegiance to Israel. They are coming out in opposition to Michigan senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. It is a sad and increasingly desperate time for this regressive misguided group. Regardless of who wins the Michigan senate seat, we the people are gathering to stop adverse Israeli meddling in homeland affairs.

Israel is a world pariah for well-documented reasons, and the scourge and stench settles onto America too. Our citizens suffer sorely under endless bipartisan support of the Israel-US imperialist Mideast agenda. The Trump-era Republican Party is regarded as “antidemocratic, Islamophobic, racist and plutocratic.” These negatives are what USA people are rejecting, and it is what the Israeli Michiganders are now actively supporting. They cannot say this tyranny is not what they support; they cannot have it both ways.
The local Israeli Americans bill themselves as Michigan Jews Against Extremism. The “extremism” they reject is, like the state of Israel, anything confrontational or critical of Israel. For Israeli Americans, it’s an easy step on into Israel’s purposeful conflation and manufacture of antisemitism. Herein, they are not called Jews, since there is nothing true to Judaism in their stance. The only religious implication is that they choose to act against Abdul El-Sayed because he is a Muslim.
Certainly, Israel has a right to self-determination. But, that right gets hollowed out by their barbaric settler colonialism, wanton destruction, war mongering, and the like. Americans of any legitimate stripe cannot condone such a toll on humanity, let alone pay for it.
Israeli Americans master the political flip-flop
Thinking caring Americans want a return to liberal democracy that can forcefully confront authoritarianism, oligarchy, climate change, and numerous other challenges. Israel, as it currently operates, is a costly, deadly distraction to any such effort.
The GOP is self-destructing, yet the Israeli locals run there. So, what could make them do this; what are they scared of? They fear that Israel is becoming irrelevant, that such a collapse of power is eminent, and they cannot bear to see a Muslim becoming a critical factor in that collapse.
The Democrats sorely need to up their game
Some local Israeli Americans indicate they have been lifelong Democrats, yet they are going to the Republicans. They and others are ripe for the Republican boogeyman strategy. So, their departure might not be much of a loss.
It remains to be seen if the Democrats can find themselves and make obviously needed changes to become a meaningful party of the people. Galvanized by figures like Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani, a new left is on the rise in the United States, attracting many young people. Certainly, El-Sayed could be a leader among the “new generation” of Democrats that is getting discussion. It’s more than just “out with the old”. Indeed, party bosses Jefferies and Schumer are glaring Israeli Americans.
That boogeyman strategy is alive and well
Sadly, Islamophobia and racism are still key election tools for the GOP, and Israeli Americans are all in. In tonight’s final Senatorial debate, the Republican nominee questioned the patriotism of Dr. El-Sayed. “Are you for America, or are you for these terrorist groups overseas?” In the end, that’s all they have. America is better than that.
Win or lose, America is benefiting from the hard work of Abdul El-Sayed
Thank you, Abdul, for staying the course and being a clear consistent voice on the important issues.
